It gives us great pleasure to invite you to participate in the “FiredUp” Exhibition & Convention. This Exhibition has focused on the promotion of Porcelain Art in Australia and Internationally – to share creative and inspiring experiences through the many ‘hands on’ Mini-workshops, lectures and schools on offer. Friendships gained through these exhibitions are precious, and times shared while making new acquaintances are always memorable, so do join us for a fabulous time.
Our venue for this 19th Exhibition and Convention is situated on the beautiful coastline of Southern Sydney at Rydges Cronulla Beachside. (Information on our website & featured in Open Medium Issue 3). We are a stone’s throw from the beach. Take an early morning stroll/swim – frequent the many restaurants/cafes to suit all budgets and tastes. We are getting excited just writing this. Cronulla is a huge tourism hub …… so beautiful!
The Team would love to see all those who have arrived on Tuesday for a welcome drink and get together/catch up with old friends, so a short walk/uber ride to Cronulla RSL which overlooks the water will be the perfect place to chill & chat. Truly amazing, right on the water! SUPER EXCITED!
Wednesday of course is Registration Day outside the Exhibition area. Once that is done and dusted you may like to attend a Mini-Workshop with any of the following great artists: Sandra Bernaitis, Eriko Watanabe, Faye Suffolk, Jan Gowen and Barbara Cronin while we work hard to set up your lovely work (see programme) SUPER SUPER EXCITED!
That night we present the “FiredUp to Open” official ceremonies, ringing of the bells and a general warm welcome to all who have joined us. Two hours of canapes & drinks ensure all are ‘well fed and watered’ whilst viewing some wonderful innovative artworks.
Thursday begins with more Mini-Workshops, Mini-Workshops plus Sunset Sips (Bubbles and Nibbles) and 1 Day Workshops in full swing, so get your notebooks out and check out the programme, don’t delay sending off your booking forms as spaces are limited in all rooms.
Friday the workshops continue, again, check out another Bubbles & Nibbles Mini Workshop ….. then, in the afternoon our Demonstrations begin.
Saturday Demonstrations will run again from 9.30am- 2.30pm, the exhibition will close and we will prepare for the “Celebrations” Formal Dinner with speeches, handing over of the Banner to Western Australia with fabulous entertainment by Scott & Cheryl Radburn …. WOW! (You may remember Scott from our last convention at The Grace Hotel) (great value here with a 2 course Dinner & 3 hour beverage plus entertainment).
Sunday, we say our goodbyes to those going home. The school will begin with Clotilde and Sandra at The Cronulla School of Arts. A short walk from Rydges – help is on hand if transport is needed.
The Australasian Team will be there to make sure all goes well. All food and firing is included in the cost of the school. Study the programme, fill out the booking forms and register asap so you are not disappointed. Bookings commence from 1st April 2024. WE LOOK FORWARD TO WELCOMING YOU!
